This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Significant flooding continues across portions of the Iron Range,
Borderlands, and inland areas of the Arrowhead of northeast
Minnesota, including the Cloquet River. While water levels have
begun to recede, some larger rivers will not crest for another day
or two.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

With water levels still elevated, flooding will remain a concern
across northeast Minnesota with the potential for further rain
chances this upcoming week.

Thunderstorms will be possible Thursday and Friday, but are not
anticipated to become severe at this time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Skywarn spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Minnesota...

  Vermilion River near Crane Lake affecting far northern St. Louis
  County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
Service at 1-800-685-8612.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Vermilion River near Crane Lake.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Flooding of Gold Mine Road and public
  river access begins.
  At 14.0 feet, Gold Mine Road flooding likely at public river
  access. Access to Gold Mine Camp is  affected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 13.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.9
    feet this evening.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    14.0 feet on 06/04/2014.

.Heavy Rainfall from June 18th of up to 7.5 inches in the headwaters
of the Cloquet River Basin is moving through Island Lake. High
outflow from the Island Lake Reservoir is expected to continue into
mid-week.

...FLOOD WARNING FOR AN UPSTREAM DAM RELEASE REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
4 PM CDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by upstream dam release continues.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, southeastern St. Louis County.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of the Cloquet river downstream of Island Lake
  including Hunter and Bowman lakes is occurring. Downstream homes
  and secondary roads are impacted.  Extensive downstream flooding
  is possible along the Cloquet River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1238 PM CDT Monday, High flows from Island Lake Reservoir
    continue causing flooding downstream. The Island Lake
    Reservoir is NOT in danger of failing. High flows will
    continue through Wednesday.  There is potential for heavy
    rainfall Monday night which may increase the duration of high
    water in the warned area.
  - Dangerous river conditions are expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Island Lake, Hunter Lake, Bowman Lake, Fond Du Lac Band
    Brookston Area, and Burnett. Flooding of roads near the
    Cloquet River is possible in Grand Lake, Saginaw, Twig and
    Taft.
  - Flood safety information can be found at

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
Service at 1-800-685-8612.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by heavy rainfall of 2 to 8 inches that
  occurred Tuesday evening continues.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, southeastern St. Louis County.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and lakes is
  occurring. Several structures are flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1231 PM CDT Monday, emergency management reported heavy
    rain in the warned area due to flooding is ongoing due to
    heavy rainfall that occurred Tuesday evening. Flooding is
    already occurring.
  - Upstream river levels on the Cloquet River at Brimson crested
    Thursday and continue receding while river levels at Alden
    Lake have crested and have been receding since 1130 AM CDT
    Saturday.
  - Some locations that are experiencing flooding include...
    Little Indian Lake, Alden Lake, Little Alden Lake, Island
    Lake and Pequaywan Lake.
  - Flood safety information can be found at

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Campers and hikers should avoid flooded trail crossings. If camping
at a site along or near the banks of rivers or streams, move away
from those locations and seek higher ground. Trails in hilly terrain
can quickly become unstable during or shortly after heavy rainfall.
