Most rivers across southern Minnesota are currently flooding due to recent heavy rainfall. Do not drive through flooded roadways. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Heat index values near 100 degrees will be possible over west central Minnesota Monday afternoon. There is a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather Monday evening. In addition to severe weather, brief heavy downpours are expected as well, but storms are expected to be moving fast enough to limit the flash flooding threat. Another period of active weather is expected Thursday afternoon through Friday night. Severe weather and localized flash flooding will be possible once again. River levels will continue rising through late next week with some locations reaching moderate or major flood stage. Additional rain could worsen the flooding. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Minnesota River at Montevideo.
* WHEN...From Sunday evening to Saturday, June 29.
* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Low lying areas and some roads along the
river begin flooding, along with some basements of houses along
the river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 900 PM CDT Saturday, the stage was 13.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow evening to a crest of 14.3 feet early Wednesday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday, June
29.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
14.2 feet on 06/25/1991.
