This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

There is a moderate risk (level 3 of 4) of excessive rainfall and
flash flooding through tonight across southern Minnesota into
western Wisconsin. After early morning rainfall, additional bouts
of thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected this afternoon
through tonight in many of the same areas that saw rain in the
morning.

There is Slight Risk of severe storms (level 2 of 5) across
southern Minnesota and southern portions of west central
Wisconsin. A warm front is expected to setup a little north of the
I-90 corridor, with numerous thunderstorms developing along and
north of it this afternoon through tonight. The primary hazards
are damaging wind gusts and the potential for a couple of
tornadoes.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Thunderstorms with heavy rain will be possible through Saturday
morning.

River levels will continue rising through late next week with
some locations reaching moderate or major flood stage. Additional
rain could worsen the flooding.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SKYWARN spotter activation may be needed for severe weather.
Rainfall reports will also be appreciated.

.Additional heavy rain will be very convectively driven with narrow
bands of heavier rain, like what what was seen in the Mankato area.
Another band could set up somewhere within the watch area this
afternoon through tonight.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
  central Minnesota, including the following counties, in central
  Minnesota, Renville. In south central Minnesota, Brown, Martin and
  Watonwan. In southwest Minnesota, Redwood. In west central
  Minnesota, Yellow Medicine.

* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Saturated soils combined with another couple rounds of very
    heavy rain could result in flash flooding.

  Cottonwood River Above Springfield affecting Brown County.

  Cottonwood River at New Ulm affecting Brown County.

  Minnesota River at New Ulm affecting Nicollet, Blue Earth and
  Brown Counties.

  Minnesota River at Savage affecting Scott, Hennepin, Carver and
  Dakota Counties.

  Minnesota River at Henderson MN19 affecting Scott, Le Sueur and
  Sibley Counties.

  Minnesota River at Morton affecting Renville and Redwood Counties.

  South Fork Crow River at Delano affecting Wright and Hennepin
  Counties.

  South Fork Crow River below Mayer affecting Carver County.

  Crow River at Rockford affecting Wright and Hennepin Counties.

...The Flood Warning is cancelled for the following rivers in
Minnesota...

  West Branch Lac Qui Parle River at Dawson affecting Lac qui Parle
  County.

.Heavy, widespread rainfall over the last several days has already
caused substantial rises in area rivers. With more heavy rainfall
expected through tonight, river levels are forecast to
increase even more in the coming days. From tonight through Sunday,
much of southern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin can expect at
least an inch of additional rainfall. A corridor of higher rainfall
amounts (2 to 3 inches) is expected, particularly over southern
Minnesota, and a few localized areas within this corridor could even
see amounts over 4 inches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Minnesota River at Morton.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Fleischer Rd flooded in North Redwood;
  storm sewers closed off and bypass pumping begins.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1000 AM CDT Friday, the stage was 22.4 feet.
  - The river is beginning to rise.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.6
    feet early Tuesday morning.
  - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    24.4 feet on 03/31/2009.
