Thunderstorms will return this afternoon and evening. A few storms may be severe with large hail and damaging winds. Locally heavy rainfall is possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Additional rounds of thunderstorms are expected mainly Thursday night through Saturday. A few severe storms, heavy rainfall, and flash flooding are possible with each of these rounds. River levels will continue rising through late week with some locations reaching moderate or major flood stage. Minnesota...
Cannon River at Northfield affecting Dakota and Rice Counties.
.Rounds of showers and thunderstorms have produced 1-3" of rain over
the area, leading to rising river levels. Additional chances for
heavy rain are expected throughout this week.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* IMPACTS...At 897.5 feet, Flood waters reach Carleton College
soccer fields. Babcock Park north of downtown begins to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 830 PM CDT Monday, the stage was 896.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow morning to a crest of 897.3 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday
morning.
- Flood stage is 897.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
898.1 feet on 10/06/2019.
