This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

River flooding along the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers
continues with moderate or major flood stage observed during the
crests. Recent rainfall will have minimal impact on the river
crests, but may prolong the length of flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Another round of heavy rain and strong storms is expected Monday
into Tuesday, which could locally exacerbate ongoing flooding
next week.

  Brown Counties.

  Minnesota River at Morton affecting Renville and Redwood Counties.

  Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Lac qui Parle, Yellow

Mississippi will reach crest this weekend. River levels are expected
to gradually fall throughout the next several days. Another round of
showers and storms Monday night into Tuesday with bring an
additional 1 to 2 inches by mid-week. This may extend river level
recession times across both rivers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* IMPACTS...At 715.0 feet, Flood waters begin flooding the east
  bound lane of Highway 101 near the intersection with Highway 13.
  Flood waters also impact the north bound lanes of Interstate 35W.
  Port Cargill builds additional protection.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1000 AM CDT Saturday, the stage was 714.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 1000 AM CDT Saturday was 714.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 707.9 feet
    Saturday, July 06.
  - Flood stage is 702.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Minnesota...

  Cannon River at Northfield affecting Rice and Dakota Counties.

.Additional rain over the past 24 hours will result in a brief
return to moderate flood stage today before water levels begin to
recede on Sunday. The next round of showers and storms arrives
Monday night. This next round could lead to another brief increase
in heights by mid-week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
