This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northwest Iowa,
west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska,
central South Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central
South Dakota, and southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Flooding will continue to slowly recede over the next several
days.

An isolated severe storm will be possible over mainly northwest
Iowa this afternoon. The main threats will be quarter sized hail
and 60 mph wind gusts.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

An active pattern early next week could lead to additional heavy
rain and/or severe weather threat; however, confidence is very low
at this time. The better chances will be on Monday night.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...West Fork Des Moines River near Avoca.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 1428.0 feet, County Road 6 and County Road 44 begin
  to flood, and there is widespread significant flooding of crop and
  pasture land.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 1428.3 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:30 PM CDT Thursday was 1428.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 1426.1 feet
    Thursday, July 04.
  - Flood stage is 1425.0 feet.
