This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, southwest
Minnesota, central South Dakota, east central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Another round of showers and storms is expected to spread in from
central South Dakota tonight. While severe storms are not expected at
this time, heavy downpours may lead to flash flooding overnight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Another round of showers and storms is likely Friday night with
scattered strong to severe storms possible. All hazards are possible
with storms Friday night, including flash flooding.

By Saturday, a widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain i4s expected with
isolated amounts of 6 or more inches. Multiple periods of locally
heavy rainfall means ponding of water and rises in area streams and
creeks are expected.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following areas,
  Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O`Brien, Osceola and Sioux, southwest
  Minnesota, including the following areas, Cottonwood, Jackson,
  Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock, and South
  Dakota, including the following areas, Aurora, Beadle, Bon Homme,
  Brookings, Brule, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Gregory,
  Hanson, Hutchinson, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, McCook,
  Miner, Minnehaha, Moody, Sanborn, Turner, Union and Yankton.

* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and
  rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and
  could flood with more heavy rain.

  - Widespread heavy rainfall continues. Area waterways continue
    to rise.

  Vermillion River near Wakonda affecting Clay County.

  West Fork Des Moines River near Avoca affecting Cottonwood and
  Murray Counties.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South
Dakota...Iowa...

  Beaver Creek at Canton affecting Lincoln County.

  Rock River at Rock Rapids affecting Lyon County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...West Fork Des Moines River near Avoca.

* WHEN...From late tonight until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 1429.0 feet, The bridge at the gage location on
  County Rd 6 is overtopped and the lowest portions of 290th Ave and
  also 61st St begin to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 1424.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tonight and continue rising to a crest of 1428.7 feet
    Monday morning.
  - Flood stage is 1425.0 feet.
