Weather hazards expected... Limited lightning risk. Limited excessive heat risk. DISCUSSION... After morning showers dissipate, a few thunderstorms will be possible today (15-30%) generally along and south of the I-44 corridor. Lightning will be the main risk with these storms, and many locations will remain dry. Heat Index values today will reach near 100 F along and just north of the Missouri and Arkansas border with middle to upper 90s elsewhere. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. A few thunderstorms will be possible Saturday (15-30%). Some sub- severe hazards are possible, including wind gusts up to 40 mph and small hail, but lightning will be the main hazard.
