...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values from 103 to 110 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, southwest, and
  west central Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon to 8 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited excessive heat risk.

DISCUSSION...

Isolated storms and showers will slowly weaken across central
Missouri. No severe weather is expected.

Heat index values in western Missouri and southeast Kansas will
rise into the upper 90s to around 103 this afternoon.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Heat and humidity will return to the area Tuesday and continue
through Thursday. Thunderstorms with heavy rain will be possible
Wednesday through Friday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

  Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight.
