Thunderstorms are likely across much of the area tonight. A few of the thunderstorms could be strong to severe over central and northeast Missouri with large hail and damaging winds being the primary threats. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. There is a chance for thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening, mainly along and south of I-70. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and damaging winds. Hot and humid conditions will produce heat index values near 105 across parts of southeastern Missouri Saturday afternoon. Please see the Heat Advisory product for details. There are additional chances for thunderstorms across portions of the area Tuesday through Thursday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... ...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity for the
following rivers in Missouri...Illinois...
Mississippi River at Saverton.
River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions change.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early Wednesday afternoon and continue rising to 28.8 feet
Friday, July 05. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
