This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

Frequent lightning, locally heavy rainfall and wind gusts up to
50 mph will be the main threats for the rest of the evening. The
threat will continue to diminish through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase Sunday with
lightning and brief heavy downpours being the main hazard. There
is a Marginal (1 of 5) Risk for severe weather Sunday for wind
gusts up to 60 mph.

Rain chances continue Monday with lightning being the main hazard
with any storm.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by heavy downpours occurring in
  thunderstorms is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Missouri, including the following
  counties, Christian, Greene and Stone.

* WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 757 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the
    advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - This includes the following low water crossings...
    Bull Creek at Center Road, Wilson`s Creek at Old Limey Road,
    Parchcorn Creek at Smyrna Road, Swan Creek at Swan Cave Road,
    Finley River at Johns Ford Road, Green Valley Creek at Holder
    RD and Woods Fork at Woods Fork Road. As thunderstorms are
    still ongoing, additional flooding may still be possible.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Southeastern Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Battlefield,
    Highlandville, Clever, Sparta, Billings, Fremont Hills,
    Brookline, Spokane, Selmore, Christian Center, Boaz, Ponce de
    Leon, Linden, Chestnutridge, Chadwick, Oldfield, Bruner,
    Garrison and Keltner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
