This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern
Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Pulse thunderstorms are possible throughout the day. A few of
these storms may be strong to severe with damaging winds being the
primary threat. Heavy rainfall and lightning are also possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Heat index values will be around 105 again on Saturday.

Chances of thunderstorms return Saturday and Sunday. At this time,
heavy rainfall and lightning appear to be the primary concerns.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR CENTRAL BUTLER AND SOUTHEASTERN RIPLEY COUNTIES...

At 1102 AM CDT, emergency management reported that flood waters were
receding quickly in Poplar Bluff. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
rainfall is expected.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Poplar Bluff, Naylor, Neelyville, Harviell and Fairdealing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
