Flood Advisory

Flood Advisory
National Weather Service Billings MT
248 PM MDT Mon Jun 10 2024

.Half an inch to an inch of rain fell Sunday night into Monday
morning over the Beartooth/Absaroka mountains. Much of this rain
fell on a substantial snowpack above 8500 feet, likely increasing
snowmelt runoff into small creeks and streams emanating from the
mountains. Several stream gages are showing rises this afternoon,
but it takes up to 24 hours for runoff to make it down into the more
populated foothills locations. As a result will extend the flood
advisory through Tuesday to allow the water to work through the
system before giving the all clear.
