...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the
following counties, Chatham, Harnett, Lee and Wake.
* WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 400 AM EDT, Although the heavy rain has ended, the 3 to 5
inches of rainfall overnight will result in continued rises
along streams and creeks. Specifically, areas around Middle
Creek will be prone to flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Raleigh, Cary, Sanford, Pittsboro, Garner, Fuquay-Varina,
Goldston, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, New Hill, Harris
Lake Boat Launch, Shearon Harris Reservoir, Crosswinds
Campground, Crosswinds Boating Center, Jordan Lake State Rec
Area, Duncan, Seaforth Boat Dock, Jordan Lake and Moncure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
