.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Hot weather will continue through this weekend, hottest on Sunday
when heat index values will peak around 105. These hot conditions
will increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.

EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Maximum heat index values of 102 to 105 expected.

* WHERE...Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Sampson, Scotland,
  Wake, and Wayne Counties.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 5 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or
heat stroke.
