This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of western and north
central Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts of southwest and north
central Nebraska.

Isolated severe storms are possible across western and north central
Nebraska this afternoon and this evening. The hazards are large hail
and damaging winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Isolated severe storms are possible across north central Nebraska
Tuesday. The hazards are large hail and damaging winds.

Isolated severe storms are possible across western Nebraska
Wednesday. The hazards are damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall
which may cause flooding in some areas.

Thunderstorms are possible Thursday through Sunday but the risk of
severe weather is uncertain.

PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and southwest Nebraska.

* WHEN...From 1 PM CDT /noon MDT/ to 8 PM CDT /7 PM MDT/ Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
