miles northeast of Engle to 9 miles south of Hatch, moving
southwest at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility with strong wind in
excess of 50 mph.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.
* This includes Interstate 25 in New Mexico between mile markers 18
and 98.

rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the
following county, Dona Ana.
* WHEN...Until 815 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows
over low-water crossings.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 611 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream
flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Talavera, East Mesa and Northeast Las Cruces.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
