The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South Central Lincoln County in central New Mexico...

* Until 315 AM MDT.

* At 1121 PM MDT, flash flooding along the Rio Hondo continues due
  to heavy rain earlier Wednesday. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
  fell Wednesday afternoon. Flooding impacts will continue, but no
  additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already
  occurring. A flood wave is likely between Ruidoso Downs and Hondo.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and gauge reports.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  San Patricio, Glencoe, Hondo and Tinnie.

This includes Highway 380 near Mile Marker 107.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast New
  Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico,
  South Central Mountains. In north central New Mexico, East Slopes
  Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Southern Sangre de Cristo
  Mountains. In northeast New Mexico, Northeast Highlands.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
  in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
  flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Heavy rainfall remains possible tonight over past and recent
    burn scars. This includes Hermits Peak Calf Canyon, Blue 2,
    McBride and South Fork. High rainfall rates may lead to
    excessive runoff, flash flooding and debris flows.

The following message is transmitted at the request of the New
Mexico Departments of Health and Environment and the Interagency
Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program.

* WHAT...Very unhealthy air quality levels due to wildfire smoke.

* WHERE...The Ruidoso area north and west toward Capitan, Nogal, and
  Carrizozo.

* WHEN...Through 1 pm MDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...For sensitive groups, don`t do any physical activity
outdoors. Move activities indoors or to a time when air quality is
better. For everyone else, don`t do any intense or lengthy physical
activity. Think about moving activities indoors or to a time when air
quality is better.

* HEALTH INFORMATION...Remember, your eyes are your best tools to
determine if it is safe to be outside. Use the 5-3-1 Method available
at https://nmtracking.doh.nm.gov/environment/air/FireAndSmoke.html.

If visibility is:

Under 5 miles, the air quality is unhealthy for young children,
adults over age 65, pregnant women, and people with heart
and/or lung disease, asthma or other respiratory illness.
Outdoor activity should be minimized.

Around 3 miles, young children, adults over age 65, pregnant
women, and people with heart and/or lung disease, asthma or other
respiratory illness should avoid all outdoor activities.

Around 1 mile, the air quality is unhealthy for everyone. People
should remain indoors and avoid all outdoor activities including
running errands. Unless an evacuation has been issued, stay inside
your home, indoor workplace, or in a safe shelter.

* WHAT...Flash flooding and debris flows caused by excessive
  rainfall are possible over the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon,
  McBride, Blue 2 and nearby burned areas.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, and northeast New
  Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico,
  South Central Mountains. In north central New Mexico, East Slopes
  Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Glorieta Mesa Including Glorieta Pass
  and Southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. In northeast New Mexico,
  Far Northeast Highlands and Northeast Highlands.

* WHEN...From 3 PM MDT this afternoon through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Heavy rainfall over the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon,
  McBride, Blue 2 and nearby burned areas is expected up to and
  during the period of the watch. Residents near these burn scars
  and freshly burned area should prepare for potential flooding
  impacts. Be sure to stay up to date with information from local
  authorities. Heavy rainfall could trigger flash flooding of
  low-lying areas, urbanized street flooding, and debris flows in
  and near recent wildfire burn scars.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - National Weather Service Meteorologists are forecasting heavy
    rainfall from thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight over
    the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon Burn Scar, McBride, and
    Hermits Peak Calf Canyon Burn Scar, which may lead to flash
    flooding and debris flows.
