...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Temperatures and Heat index values up to 105 expected.

* WHERE...In Oklahoma, Beaver County. In Texas, Collingsworth,
  Hemphill, Lipscomb, Palo Duro Canyon, and Wheeler Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Texas and Oklahoma
Panhandles.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Hot temperatures up to 105 today across the eastern Panhandles, as
well as the Palo Duro Canyon State Park area. Heat Advisories have
been issued for the areas noted.

Showers and storms possible tonight, mainly across the northern
Panhandles. Main threat will be lighting and heavy rain with any
storm that forms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Thunderstorms will be possible across at least parts of the
Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles Saturday and Sunday. A few storms
that develop Saturday afternoon and evening may become severe,
with damaging winds and large hail the primary hazards.

Additional thunderstorms may develop across the area Tuesday night
through Thursday. Storms that form during this time period are
expected to remain below severe levels at this time.
