There is a chance of thunderstorms late this afternoon into the evening, primarily across the southern half of Oklahoma and adjacent parts of north Texas. The most intense thunderstorms could become strong to severe with a threat for damaging wind gusts and large hail. Additional thunderstorms may approach from the west late tonight into the evening hours. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday... .Heat... The combination of heat and humidity will lead to heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees across most areas through Saturday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
