The combination of heat and humidity will lead to heat index
values of 105 to 110 degrees across most areas into next weekend.
If you have plans for strenuous outdoor activities, or work
outside, plan for frequent breaks and stay hydrated.

.Thunderstorms...
Thunderstorm chances return to the forecast late Tuesday through
Wednesday morning, mainly across northern into central Oklahoma.
Damaging winds may occur with storms across northern Oklahoma
Tuesday evening.

The next chance for organized storms will be Friday night through
next weekend.

* WHAT...Heat index values of 105 to 110 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northern, northwest,
  southeast, southern, southwest, and western Oklahoma and northern
  Texas.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM CDT this evening and from 11 AM to
  9 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
