AREA...Most of Eastern Oklahoma and West Central Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. SIGNIFICANT WINDS. RISK...Limited. AREA...Northeast Oklahoma. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... Higher relative humidity values today will result in maximum afternoon heat index values around 100 degrees for most of eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas. Gusty southerly winds will continue this afternoon across much of the area. Some locations across northeast Oklahoma may see a few gusts between 25 and 30 mph. Isolated thunderstorms will remain possible this afternoon, primarily along and east of Interstate 49 in western Arkansas. Severe weather is not expected. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential. WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...No Hazards. SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... A low chance for isolated thunderstorms in parts of southeast Oklahoma and western Arkansas will exist again Tuesday afternoon, along with continued gusty southerly winds in most of the region. Increasing moisture in association with a tropical low in the western Gulf of Mexico will bring a very low chance for showers and thunderstorms to parts of far southeast Oklahoma and then, parts of eastern Oklahoma to the west of Highway 75 toward the middle of the week. Heat and humidity will increase for the weekend as upper level high pressure builds back into the region. Expect triple digit heat index values in at least some spots. A weakness in the upper level high toward the end of the weekend and early next week will bring a low chance for showers and thunderstorms back into the forecast for areas north of Interstate 40. weather.gov/tulsa contains additional information. $$
