This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Puerto Rico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

.Excessive Heat...This level of heat affects anyone without
effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts likely in
some health systems, heat-sensitive industries and
infrastructure.

.Wind...Breezy conditions. Unsecured items could blow around.

.Marine Conditions...Small craft should exercise caution across
the regional waters.

.Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are possible in the
surf zone.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

The heat will continue each day, being strongest through
Thursday. There is a moderate rip current risk for the islands
each day. Excessive rainfall expected for western Puerto Rico each
afternoon Thursday onward.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is encouraged. Please relay any information
about flooding, winds, waves, and rip currents to the National
Weather Service in San Juan.

* WHAT...For the Excessive Heat Warning, A period of dangerously hot
  and humid conditions is expected. This level of heat affects
  anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. For
  the Excessive Heat Watch, A period of dangerously hot and humid
  conditions is expected. This level of heat affects anyone without
  effective cooling and/or adequate hydration.

* WHERE...In Puerto Rico, Culebra, Mayaguez and Vicinity, North
  Central, Northwest, Ponce and Vicinity, San Juan and Vicinity,
  Southeast, and Southwest. In Virgin Islands, St Croix.

* WHEN...For the Excessive Heat Warning, until 6 PM AST this
  evening. For the Excessive Heat Watch, from Wednesday morning
  through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
