Flooding continues on many area rivers through the rest of this week, though gradual declines are expected to begin in most areas. Scattered thunderstorms return Thursday and Friday. forecast.
* WHERE...Big Sioux River near Brookings.
* WHEN...Until Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Some farm outbuildings begin to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 10.8 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 PM CDT Tuesday was 10.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.9
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage Saturday morning.
- Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
