This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Rivers continue to crest over the next 24 to 48 hours.

Hot and humid conditions lead to heat index values above 100
degrees. Areas south of I-90 may see heat index values as high as
110 degrees.

Showers and storms are possible this afternoon and evening. If
storms can develop, they may quickly become severe with large hail of
2 inch diameter and wind gusts to 70 mph. Locally heavy rainfall is
possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Ongoing flooding concerns continue with crests continuing into
Tuesday.

Showers and storms are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening. If
storms can develop, strong to severe storms with locally heavy
rainfall are possible. More unsettled weather returns later this
week.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM
CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 110 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest
  Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south
  central, and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
