This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Patchy fog this morning could briefly reduce visibility to below one
mile.

Many area streams, creeks and rivers are in Major flood stage
leading to continued road closures. These impacts will slowly recede
over the next couple of days.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Ongoing flooding concerns continue.

Hot and humid conditions Monday will lead to heat index values near
to above 100 degrees.

Showers and storms are possible Monday afternoon and evening and
again Tuesday. If storms can develop, strong to severe storms with
locally heavy rainfall are possible. More unsettled weather returns
later this week.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest
  Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south
  central, and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...From 1 PM to 8 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 AM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast
  South Dakota, including the following counties, in east central
  South Dakota, Lake, Miner and Sanborn. In south central South
  Dakota, Aurora. In southeast South Dakota, Bon Homme, Clay,
  Davison, Hanson, Hutchinson, McCook, Turner and Yankton.

* WHEN...Until 945 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations continues. Numerous roads remain closed
  due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 933 AM CDT, Emergency management reported flooding from
    heavy rain. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
    warned area.

    Herman State Park, Salem, Freeman, Howard, Scotland, Marion,

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

unstable and unsafe.
