* Until 630 PM EDT.
* At 549 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southwest
of Newport, moving southeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Newport, Dandridge, Baneberry, Del Rio, Chestnut Hill, Round
Mountain, Cosby, Bird Crossing, Hartford, and Fairgarden.
This includes Interstate 40 in Tennessee between mile markers 421 and
451.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay

a line extending from 7 miles east of Maynardville to near Clinton.
Movement was southeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Knoxville, Sevierville, Clinton, Jefferson City, Newport, Dandridge,
Maynardville, White Pine, Plainview, and New Market.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
