...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM CDT
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...For the Excessive Heat Warning Saturday, dangerously hot
  conditions with heat index values of 110 to 112. For the Heat
  Advisory Sunday, heat index values up to 109 expected.

* WHERE...North and Eastern Central Texas.

* WHEN...For the Excessive Heat Warning, until 7 PM CDT this
  evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM CDT
  Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase
  the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those
  working or participating in outdoor activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and
pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended
vehicles.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest
breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is
an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for North and Central Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Dangerous heat is expected this afternoon with heat index values up
to 112 degrees for some locations.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Oppressive heat will persist into next week with heat index values
between 105 and 112 degrees each day.

There is a low chance for thunderstorms on Sunday for areas near the
Red River and Monday in East Texas. Additional low storm chances
will then return Thursday night and Friday.
