Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through the early evening as tropical moisture continues to increase across the region. The strongest storms may contain gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall, but organized severe weather is not anticipated. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Rain chances will be confined to mainly east Texas on Wednesday as high pressure builds in, displacing the tropical moisture to the west. By Thursday, upper ridging will build over the region as potentially hazardous temperatures return heading into the weekend. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Harrison Counties.
Sabine River At Logansport affecting De Soto, Shelby and Panola
Counties.
Sabine River Near Mineola affecting Wood and Smith Counties.
For the Sabine River...including Mineola, Hawkins, Gladewater,
Longview, Beckville, Logansport...Moderate flooding is forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

decrease over the next several days.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 30.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:15 PM CDT Tuesday was 31.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Saturday morning and continue falling to 23.1 feet Sunday
evening.
- Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
