Isolated thunderstorms may linger across western portions of Central Texas on Thursday. Heat index values will approach 105 each afternoon from Sunday through the middle of next week. Neches River Near Alto affecting Trinity, Cherokee, Anderson and
Houston Counties.
For the Neches River...including Lake Palestine, Neches, Alto,
Diboll, Rockland...Minor flooding is forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

heavily wooded floodplain. Boat ramps and picnic areas will be
completely inundated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:15 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 17.2 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 7:15 AM CDT Wednesday was 17.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Friday afternoon and continue falling to 14.1 feet
Monday morning.
