Winter Garden regions. Spotty heat indices of 108 to 112 are
expected this afternoon.

...ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES AND HEAT INDICES CONTINUE TODAY...

Hot temperatures are expected across South-Central Texas today.
High temperatures of 100 to 105 and spotty heat indices of 108 to
112 are expected across the Rio Grande Plains and Winter Garden
regions this afternoon. This includes Atascosa, Frio, Dimmit,
Zavala, Uvalde, Maverick, Kinney and Val Verde counties.

Those spending extended time outdoors and not acclimated to this
heat could be susceptible to heat related illness if not taking
proper heat precautions, such as drinking plenty of water and
taking frequent breaks out of the sun and heat.
