...Heat Index Values Will Reach 110 Late This Afternoon in
Spots...

The combination of seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper
90s with high humidity, likely the result of remaining moisture
percolating from farms following last week`s rains...has brought
heat index, or apparent temperatures, to between 106 and 110 as of
3 PM this afternoon. On occasion, the heat index has popped up to
between 111 and 113, but subsequently dropped back to 110 soon
after.

These conditions will continue through 6 PM before lowering
temperatures bring heat index values to between 100 and 105.

Persons outdoors should continue to drink plenty of water before,
during, and after activities and take frequent breaks in shady
spots late this afternoon.

Similar conditions are expected each afternoon through at least
Friday. Should forecast temperatures increase while humidity,
measured by dewpoint, remain higher than forecast, Heat Advisories
may be required.
