Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Blacksburg VA 518 AM EDT Sun Sep 22 2024 VAZ019-020-023-024-WVZ507-221300- Alleghany VA-Bath-Botetourt-Rockbridge-Eastern Greenbrier- Including the cities of Clifton Forge, Covington, Hot Springs, Fincastle, Lexington, Buena Vista, Lewisburg, White Sulphur Springs, and Alderson 518 AM EDT Sun Sep 22 2024 Surface observations indicate that locally dense fog has developed across portions of the southern Shenandoah Valley, with visibilities anywhere from one quarter mile to only a few hundred feet. When driving in fog, motorists are urged to slow down to a safe speed, allow extra separation distance with surrounding vehicles, and to use low beam headlights. Fog will burn off quickly after 9 AM this morning. $$
