...EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, this level of heat affects most
  individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective
  cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts possible in some health
  systems and in heat-sensitive industries. For the Excessive Heat
  Watch, dangerously hot conditions may extent through tomorrow.

* WHERE...In Puerto Rico, Culebra and Vieques Counties. In Virgin
  Islands, St. Thomas, St. John, and Adjacent Islands County.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from 9 AM this morning to 6 PM AST
  this evening. For the Excessive Heat Watch, from Saturday morning
  through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

.Excessive Heat...This level of heat affects anyone without
effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts likely in
some health systems, heat-sensitive industries and
infrastructure.

.Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are possible in the
surf zone particularly in St Croix.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

The heat spell may extend throughout the rest of the forecast
period. An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect through at least
Saturday. A moderate risk of rip current will persist through the
forecast period.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is encouraged. Please relay any information
about flooding, winds, waves, and rip currents to the National
Weather Service in San Juan.
