This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

   Heat Advisory.

Dangerous heat continues again today with heat index values up to
100 F possible.

In addition, another round of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms
is expected this afternoon and evening. The main threats from any
thunderstorms will be gusty winds, heavy rainfall, dangerous
lightning, and small hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

THROUGH 245 PM EDT...

At 159 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Westford, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Morrisville, Johnson Village, Waterville, Underhill, Cambridge,
Cambridge Village, Morrisville Village, Stowe, Westford, Johnson,
Jeffersonville Village, Underhill State Park, Fairfax, Morristown,

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 100.

* WHERE...All of Vermont and northern New York. The hottest
  conditions will be in portions of the Champlain and Connecticut
  River Valleys.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Indoor temperatures may continue to rise after peak heating hours in
poorly ventilated spaces. Those without air conditioning should
consider the potential for lingering health impacts while indoors
late in the day.
