This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Significant flooding will continue today over portions of
northern Minnesota, especially along the North Shore. Flooding is
also occurring along the South Shore, especially in northern
Bayfield County.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Rivers and streams will continue be high or in flood.

Additional rain and thunderstorms are expected late-week into
Saturday. Heavy rain and some additional flooding issues are
expected. The highest rainfall amounts are expected from northwest
Wisconsin into the Brainerd Lakes region.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield and Douglas Counties.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 521 AM CDT Wednesday, law enforcement has reported heavy
    rain has led to flooding in the warned area. Flooding is
    ongoing. Between 2.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen.
    Several roads are washed out and particularly hard hit is
    Highway 13 which is closed in several locations and has
    sections washed out. Some sections of Highway 13 closed
    include around Port Wing, Cornucopia and around Salmo. Rivers
    and streams will continue to be very high as runoff is routed
    through them.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Washburn, Iron River, Oulu, Bayfield, Port Wing, La Pointe,
    Cornucopia, Apostle Island Sea Caves, Sand Bay, Sand Island,
    Herbster, York Island, Red Cliff, Oak Island, Madeline
    Island, Big Bay State Park, Meyers Beach, Apostle Islands
    National Lake Shore, Eagle Island and Bark Point.
  - Flood safety information can be found at

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Do not attempt to cross flooded roads in hilly terrain. Find an
alternate route.
