This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central and
southern Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening. A few
storms may become severe with potential damaging winds and a
tornado or two. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Additional rounds of thunderstorms are expected Thursday night
through Saturday. A few severe storms, heavy rainfall, and flash
flooding are possible with each of these rounds.

River levels will continue rising through late week with some
locations reaching moderate or major flood stage. Additional rain
later in the week could worsen the flooding.

SKYWARN spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and
evening.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT RUSK...EASTERN DUNN...CHIPPEWA
AND EASTERN BARRON COUNTIES THROUGH MIDNIGHT CDT...

At 1100 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles northeast of Birchwood to 5 miles south
of Menomonie. Movement was east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Eau Claire, Menomonie, Ladysmith, Chippewa Falls, Lake Hallie,
Stanley, Bloomer, Lake Wissota, Chetek, Cornell, Cadott, and Colfax.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 94 in Wisconsin between mile markers 43 and 56.
 U.S. Highway 53 between mile markers 93 and 131.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in the Twin Cities.
