The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The Mullen burn scar in...
  Southeastern Carbon County in south central Wyoming...
  Southwestern Albany County in southeastern Wyoming...

* Until 545 PM MDT.

* At 347 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain over the Mullen Burn Scar. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches
  of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
  or expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar may result in debris flow
moving through the Douglas Creek, Felton Creek, and Squirrel Creek
drainages. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by
           thunderstorms. in and around the Mullen Burn Scar.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around
           the Mullen Burn Scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Albany, Foxborough, Bobbie Thompson Campground, Pelton Creek
  Campground, Foxpark, Miller Lake Campground, Platte River
  Wilderness, Lake Owen, Lake Owen Campground, Six Mile Campground
  and Woods Landing-Jelm.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall can cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and
ditches in the Mullen Burn Scar. Severe debris flows may also be
anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in
places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of panhandle
Nebraska...east central Wyoming...south central Wyoming and
southeast Wyoming.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon with hail, strong
winds, and heavy rainfall. Cannot rule out a tornado with any
longer track supercells that develop.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

Severe thunderstorm potential continues Friday.

Hot temperatures are expected for Sunday through the middle of
next week. Highs exceeding 100F will be possible (40-60% chance)
particularly on Monday.
