...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois, including the following
  counties, Jo Daviess and Stephenson and Iowa, including the
  following counties, Benton, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson,
  Jones and Linn.

* WHEN...From midnight CDT tonight through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Thunderstorms will develop in the tropical atmosphere after
    midnight and slowly move across the area. The possibility
    exists that storms may repeat over the same areas producing
    excessive rainfall. Rainfall rates may approach 2 inches per
    hour.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

Isolated thunderstorms are possible this evening. Then, there
will be increasing chances for showers and storms late tonight
into Saturday morning north of Highway 30. The severe weather
threat will remain very low. Heavy downpours will be possible
with any thunderstorms that form.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

Hot and humid conditions will continue Saturday, especially along
and south of Interstate 80 with heat indices of 95 to 100 degrees
possible.

A cold front will move through the area Saturday afternoon and
evening, leading to increasing chances of strong to severe
thunderstorms. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts, with
large hail and isolated tornadoes as secondary threats. High
rainfall rates and slow moving storms could lead to localized
flash flooding, especially in urban and poorly drained areas.

Thunderstorm chances then return for Tuesday and Tuesday night.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated tonight, but may be needed
for portions of the area Saturday afternoon and evening.
