...HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY...

A strong storm system is expected to move into the northern half of
the Alaska Panhandle and the northeast Gulf Coast tonight and
continue through Tuesday. Beginning tonight for Haines, Skagway, and
the two highways, periods of moderate to heavy rain will move over
the area. Total rain accumulation are expected to be between 1.5-3.5
inches, with the heaviest rain late Tuesday morning into Tuesday
afternoon. While substantial areal flooding is not expected at this
time, isolated instances of minor ponding of water in low lying
areas are possible. Furthermore, wet snow is possibly on the
Klondike Highway near White Pass up to 3 inches through tonight,
though warm surface temperatures may hinder these snow totals.
