Withlacoochee At US 41 Dunnellon affecting Marion, Levy and Citrus

.Due to recent heavy rainfall, water levels on Anclote River and
Manatee River are forecast to remain at flood stage and begin to fall
Saturday. Water levels on the Cypress Creek and Little Manatee River
are expected to continue rising and reach Flood Stage during the
weekend or early in the week.

Elevated water levels continue on the Withlacoochee River at
Dunnellon due to a combination of excessive hydrilla growth along a
4.5 mile stretch of river between U.S. 41 and Lake Rousseau, and
recent heavy rainfall. Water levels are expected to hold steady
before slowly decreasing over the next several days. However, the
river is forecast to remain in flood stage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
