Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...

  South Fork Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.

.Heavy rainfall Wednesday night has led to minor flooding along the
South Fork Wildcat Creek near Lafayette until tomorrow morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

television, or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.

* WHERE...South Fork Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.

* WHEN...From this morning to tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Creek at flood stage.  Water over banks
  and affecting agricultural land and low residential areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:15 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 9:15 AM EDT Thursday was 10.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 10.5 feet late this
    afternoon. It will then fall late this afternoon. It will
    rise to 10.6 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood
    stage just after midnight tonight.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

  Wabash River at Lafayette.

.Additional heavy rainfall Wednesday night has resulted in renewed
minor river flooding around Lafayette...both on the Wildcat Creek
and Wabash River at Lafayette.  Flooding should end on the Wildcat
Creek by early Friday...and on the Wabash at Lafayette on Saturday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this morning to a crest of 12.6 feet just after midnight
    tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday
    afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

This hazardous weather outlook is for central Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Early Today through Tonight.

Widespread minor to moderate river flooding will continue along the
Wabash River...with widespread bankfull to minor flooding on the
White River.

Localized flash flooding is possible through early Thursday following
heavy rainfall for many areas overnight. Widely scattered thunder is
expected into Thursday morning...although any severe storms will be
isolated...with damaging winds the only severe mode expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Thunderstorms will be possible on Saturday. Severe weather is not
expected, but lightning is a hazard with any storm.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters are encouraged to report rainfall amounts or any severe
weather later today into tonight.
