...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM
AKDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected with visibilities down to a

of 7 to 20 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Western Prince William Sound.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 6 PM AKDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility to a quarter of a

  and afternoon commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Another winter storm is expected to bring
another round of strong winds and heavy snow with blizzard
conditions expected especially between Moose Pass and Turnagain
Pass. Portage Valley and the Seward area will briefly see a
period of heavy snow before changing over to rain as
temperatures rise into the mid to upper 30s Wednesday morning.
Areas between Moose Pass and Turnagain Pass will see the
heaviest snow with 10 to 20 inches possible. Blowing snow may
cause near white-out conditions at times especially tonight. As
temperatures warm during the day on Wednesday visibilities will
begin to improve by Wednesday afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions, making travel very hazardous. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you.If you get stranded, stay
with your vehicle.
