This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the
National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

.DAY ONE...Outlook through Tonight.

Areas of snow in the northern part of central Alabama will create
some minor travel hazards through 9 am this morning.

Very cold air and a brisk wind will combine to cause wind chills in
the 5 to 15 degree range overnight tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Cold conditions are expected again Thursday night with low
temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees and wind chill values as low as the
single digits, especially near and north of Interstate 20.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of storm spotters and emergency management is not
expected at this time.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
NOON CST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold conditions, with wind chills of 5 to 15 degrees
  expected.

* WHERE...All of central Alabama.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to noon CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
  is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of
  subfreezing temperatures could cause pipes to burst.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

To prevent freezing and possible bursting of pipes they should be
wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
