SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. RISK...Limited. AREA...Far northeast Oklahoma and far northwest Arkansas. ONSET...Now...ending after 2am. DISCUSSION... An isolated severe storm is possible tonight in far northeast Oklahoma and along the Missouri and Arkansas border in northwest Arkansas as a warm front continues to lift north across the area. Any storms that form will be elevated with inflow several thousand feet above the ground. This setup supports the potential for hail around quarter size and gusty winds. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. SUNDAY...High Wind Potential. MONDAY...No Hazards. TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. WEDNESDAY...No Hazards. THURSDAY and FRIDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... The wind will be gusty for a time on Sunday both in advance of and behind a cold front that will pass through the region. The wind will generally start to relax during the afternoon. A disturbance aloft could result in a few thunderstorm in parts of southeast Oklahoma on Tuesday.
