...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT GILA AND YAVAPAI COUNTIES WEST
OF PAYSON AND HIGHWAY 87 THROUGH 445 PM MST...
At 411 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles north of Mazatzal Peak, or 11 miles west of Payson, moving west
at 5 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Pine Mountain Wilderness, Table Mountain, Fossil Creek Day Use Area,
Childs Power Plant, Mazatzal Peak, Tonto Natural Bridge State Park,
and Cedar Bench Wilderness.
