The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* Until 600 PM MST.

* At 251 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.25
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water
           crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  mainly rural areas of Yavapai County

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Verde River, Rattlesnake Wash, Wagon Tire Wash, Hell Canyon, Munds
  Draw and Big Chino Wash.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Normally dry washes, slot canyons and creeks can become raging
killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MST
TONIGHT...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Much of central and northern Arizona, including areas from the
  Grand Canyon to Window Rock and southward.

* Until midnight MST tonight

* Periods of showers and thunderstorms will continue through
  late this evening. Areas of heavy rainfall will likely lead to
  flash flooding in washes, creeks, and poor drainage areas.
  Burn scars from recent wildfires will be especially prone to
  flash flooding.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

  The Rafael Fire scar in...
  Coconino County in north central Arizona...
  Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* Until 315 PM MST.

* At 227 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain over the Rafael Fire scar. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches
  of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.75 to 1.5
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding in and around the Rafael Fire
           scar.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around
           the Rafael Fire scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  mainly rural areas of Coconino and Yavapai Counties

This includes the following swimming holes...
Parsons Spring along Sycamore Creek.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Verde River, Sycamore Creek, JD Dam Wash, West Fork Oak Creek,
  Spring Creek, Volunteer Wash, Coffee Creek, Railroad Draw and Tule
  Tank Wash.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Get to higher ground immediately! Flash flood waters and debris will
inundate recreation trails crossing washes within and downstream of
Sycamore Canyon and Creek, including Parsons and Dogie Trails.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM MST THIS
AFTERNOON FOR GILA, COCONINO AND YAVAPAI COUNTIES...

At 146 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have ended
across the West Clear Creek drainage near Camp Verde. Between 0.75
and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up
to 0.25 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings,
         creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Clear Creek Campgrounds.

This includes the following swimming holes...
Bull Pen Day Use Area and West Clear Creek.

This includes the following highways...
State Route 260 between mile markers 225 and 244.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  West Clear Creek, Bull Run Creek, Horsetank Wash, Chasm Creek and
  Fossil Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will
become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could
become flooded as well.

In hilly or mountainous terrain, there are many low water crossings
which will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross
flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
