The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The Park burn scar in...
  Northwestern Butte County in northern California...
  Eastern Tehama County in northern California...

* Until 215 AM PDT.

* At 848 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain over the Park Burn Scar with rain rates over a half
  inch(0.50)in 30 min possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the warning area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation
and other loose materials.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding in and around the Park Burn
           Scar.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around
           the Park Burn Scar.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Chico, Mineral, Paynes Creek, Forest Ranch and Richardson Springs.

* Additional locations include... Mud Creek, Rock Creek, Pine Creek,
  Deer Creek, Mill Creek, Antelope Creek, and Paynes Creek

The heaviest rain is over the northern part of the burn scar, but is
expected to slowly spread south over all of the burn area through
the evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and
ditches in the Park Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be
anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in
places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.
