...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM MONDAY TO 6 PM
PST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Large breaking waves will build to 8 to 12 feet with
local sets to 14 feet Monday and continue into early Tuesday.
Surf will slowly subside Tuesday afternoon.

* WHERE...Ventura County Coast, Los Angeles County Coast and
  Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands.

* WHEN...From 6 AM Monday to 6 PM PST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip

rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Local minor coastal flooding or tidal
overflow is possible in low-lying coastal areas such as beach
parking lots and harbor walkways within a few hours of the
high tides Monday and Tuesday. Some beach erosion is also
  possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means beaches in the advisory area will have
localized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions. Swim
near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float.
Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction
following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and
call or wave for help.
