...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM PDT THIS
EVENING FOR RIVERSIDE COUNTY...

At 837 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area, south of Interstate 10 near Ford Dry
Lake. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  mainly rural areas of Riverside County

This includes the following highways and roads...
CA Interstate 10 between mile markers 111 and 120.
    Chuckwalla Valley Road.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southwest California, including
  the following areas, Apple and El Dorado burn scars, Apple and
  Lucerne Valleys, Coachella Valley, Riverside County Mountains, San
  Bernardino County Mountains, San Diego County Deserts, San Diego
  County Mountains and San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning.

* Through Monday evening.

* Scattered showers and thunderstorms will impact the mountains and
  deserts tonight through early Monday evening. The greatest
  potential of flash flooding over the mountains is Monday
  afternoon, but anytime over the deserts. The strongest
  thunderstorms will be capable of dropping 1 to 2 inches of rain,
  possibly producing flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
